I think this is a beautiful guitar, but have only found one for sale (and they won't ship it, plus it's damaged) Anyone ever had one? They were made in Japan around 1974

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the age of this guitar?  Or at least
what years was it in production?

I know it is very old just not sure how old.

Yours was made around 1923 they came in 2 sizes standard and grand concert which was marked as A with a star behind it 3 ply rosewood side 2 ply rosewood back mahogany neck and had a ebony smile bridge and they had a flowery gold leaf print on top of S...

It's a Beckmen Music model. Beckmen owned the brand name 1974-1977.

With a six-digit serial, it's more likely the first indicates year, so I'd guess 1988.

Can anyone tell me why my D-30 SN doesn't have a serial number on the head-stock? Is that normal?The number inside is 382.

I have a couple of electrics from the same era, & their numbers are typed on small strips of white tape, affixed to the back of the headstock. Not unusual that these fell off or were removed at some point.
