My experience is that $1,700 is... optimistic. I've seen very few old Washburns go out for $1,000+, & those had interesting inlay work or gold decoration, like this one --

Thank you very much for the info.   It has mahogany /ebony neck and 3 fret markers.   The music store I work at dug this up and asked me if I could take a look at it and see if it was worth repairing.  One look at the rosewood sides was all I needed to...

with the dots o as fret markers makes it a bit older more like 1908 - 09 and that tail piece as you can see was added later but yep still worth having it repaired the last one I saw with repairs sold for around the $1700 ( canadian )and it had some ser...

Yep I am familiar with Steve's site and his work and often communicate with him when he has questions that he doesn't have answers to great guy and very knowledgeable about  many old brands.

I have this Washburn guitar and don't know much about it. I've been looking at other similar guitars but mine doesn't have a year stamp, just a serial number. Could anyone help me with more information and possible worth of this guitar?

Looks like a model 101 with a cedar or mahogany neck made around 1890 as for value well kind of hard to determine these days  and not sure if those cracks have been fixed so will give a best will run anywhere from $900-$1400.
rosewood b/s 18 fret ebony...

I made him an offer of AUD$575 on it, which he didn't accept.  I have subsequently contacted him and it didn't sell, and he has decided to hang on to it for the time being.

I asked him to let me know if he changes his mind about selling.

I did search in the whole Washburn series in the website looking for this D-14-AB and couldnt find no referance. Could some one help understand what means AB? I would like to know if its a solid top or a laminate top... its a dread, acoustic.
