My Cheyenne has mahogany B&S. There isn't an "S" in the model designation, but it has a solid top. I've determined from other sites that it has laminated sides, and a solid back. Definately mahogany back. The sides look like the other wood that is simi...

With what I am doing now as a working player I can use a dual Electric Acoustic guitar in a big way. I have owned a couple Carvins over the years with this set up and found a KILLER 2012 DC 400 with the Fishman system I can pick up local but need to co...

[So I have a really old parlor washburn stamped 112   227862 on top of the head.  227862 is hand lettered in the sound hole.  Any idea of exact year.  It looks like 1887.  How about value?
It sounds better than my Martin, my Taylor, and even my Avalon!

Also, there is no label in the body and no markings other than the 5240 stamped in ink inside the body, the 1571 punched into the head, and the brass medallion on the head.

I have no idea.  My grandmother's memory isn't that good (she's 102).  All I know is she bought it new and has owned it ever since.

Correct about the saddle angle, or lack of it - but as noted above, that is not the original bridge as it would most likely have come from the factory with a Washburn "smile" bridge looking like this as someone has correctly pointed out above:

Thanks Mark I knew e-mailing you would be the right way to go with this one. I scoured all of my catalogues and couldn't come close enough to even guess the model on this one and have never seen one of these Hawaiian models before but remember hearing ...

You guys may be dead on with the early Hawaiian model.  My Grandmother played it on her lap with a slide.  The slide is still in the case.  It is brass or bronze and labeled "Waverly".
