WOW!!!!

That's a VERY nice looking classical! I particularly like the rosette (that decorative circle around the soundhole).

Having played classicals for about 2/3 of my life (won't say how old I am, but the protoplasm is older than aluminum foil), I c...

Doesn't really look like one of the parlors from that long ago...

We'll wait and see what the historians say...there are a few on this forum who know a lot about the older Washburn products.

Cheers!

any numbers on the headstock or anywhere else I can tell you that the bridge is wrong and replaced to accomidate gut strings would have been steel originally

Hi, Ship!!!  Great to see you posting again!

The body shape doesn't look like one of the old parlors, the lower bout is too large....am I correct about that?

Cheers!

A quick detail question please!

Does the serial number have any bearing on it's date of manufacture or were they assigned erratically or randomly to the point that it is not a decent point of reference?

Beyond this I have some additional information.  ...

On the bridge.......you are most likely of course right in saying that it was replaced!  It just was done rather well in that there is no obvious evidence of it being replace or of it being a  replacement bridge in terms of congruence with the instrume...

Yah, Der Dugliness is on the right track (as usual). I'm not having any luck at a face-on view of it, but remember that the parlours often had "narrow shoulders," so the butt looked large in proportion.

The topic recurs all the time, because people lea...

Thanks ....very helpful.  I certainly did not think it was worth thousands of dollars!  Being in the business I have bought many guitars over time and no better than to froth at the mouth over an obscure find from a minor brand.  My tech thought it was...

no offence to your tech but he should know that is braz rosewood and definitely the bridge is a replacement and the guitar could be from around 1930 did you find any numbers stamped on the back of the headstock if not it will be the 30's then and as fo...

Yeah...that F chord was a bugger for me, too....until I figured out how easy it was to just use a barred E at the first fret.  Problem solved!

Lots of people have problems with the F chord...I use the classical position and so it's just a matter of coc...
